Evalie Wagner (*1983) is an Austrian artist and designer currently living and working on a farm in Upper Austria. She studied at the New Design University St. Pölten and the University of Art and Design Linz, where she graduated in Fine Arts and Cultural Studies. Her work has received numerous awards and grants, and she has participated in exhibitions and residency programs both in Austria and internationally.
Her interdisciplinary practice moves between the poetic and the conceptual, drawing on a rich tapestry of historical and aesthetic references, as well as influences from design, architecture, and craftsmanship. Grounded in extensive research, her subtly composed, associative works function as visual metaphors. Her site-specific installations unfold as compelling narratives, integrating elements such as botany, painting, photography, and objects. With a strong focus on ecology and nature, she describes herself as an "Avantgardener.
